The Nigeria Investment Forum in Melbourne 2020 was organised by OctoberFirst Consulting in conjunction with Australia Africa Chamber of CommerceNigeria Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade & Investment and was hosted by Nigeria High Commission in Canberra.

The fundamental purpose of the event was to consolidate on the footprints of the Nigeria Mining Roadshow 2018 and expand visibility into investment opportunities in other business sectors in Nigeria.

Australian delegates gained insight into investment opportunities in nominated sub-sectors such as:

  • Agribusiness: Arid farming technologies, Genetic & breeding services and Food processing technologies
  • Healthcare: Digital health, Health & Wellness solutions, Education & Training
  • Housing Development: Turn key project development, Project funding, PPPs (Public Private Partnerships)
  • ICT: enterprise software, GSM latest technologies, Digital services, Fintech and E-commerce

Delegates from both countries met one-on-one in the four simultaneous break-out sessions. Some State Governments in Nigeria were represented while leaders from Federal Government Ministries and parastatals attended the Forum.

As a result of the Investment Forum in Melbourne, several business connections were developed between Australian and Nigeria stakeholders in nominated business sectors.  The event featured break-out sessions, interactive panel discussions and keynote presentations.
